If you stared at First Sight Australia groom Mikey at Married and think his face looks kind of familiar, it might be because it is.
It points out that the 29-year-old operations manager, married on the series to Natasha Spencer, is an aspiring actor who has worked on Home And Away and other television shows.
Mikey announced to TV WEEK that he was an extra in Home And Abroad –and that he even had a few words.
His stops at Summer Bay were around eight years ago when he was 20 to 21 years old.
"They will claim,' in the diner scene, we need four or five people,' so you would do that," he says.
He says there have been times he was ordered to recite "a few sentences" in bed, like one instance while he was in a hospital scene. "There was a major argument between two people and I was supposed to say, ' Hey, hey, I am the ill one, ' or something."
Mikey had expected to join Home And Away's squad on a more permanent basis but only provided bit parts to date.
"When I was younger, that's what I used to do. I was like, ' That's the series I want to be on. ' But, he expressed, it never happened."
Mikey also participated in the Deal Or No Deal game show. In the video below you can see him running on to set to show off a pair of dance moves before he starts the game.
His most notable acting role was in the 2017 ABC mini-series Friday On My Mind focused on Australian rock band's true story, The Easybeats.
Mikey was introduced as Jigger, who was " a bit of a bully" to band members and was supposed to star in five series, but found bad luck and featured only in two.
He told TV Week, " I was meant to be in about five shows, but I was playing rugby and the shooting was the week after, so I lacerated the nerves in my face on Saturday. My face blew up, so they couldn't use me for all the scenes, so I only ended up having one or two.
Although his current job is as an operations manager for Homewood Care aged care service, he has also served as a sales manager for a marketing company and as a real estate agent for LJ Hooker in Mosman's well-to-do north shore neighborhood of Sydney.
Mikey also had some media work experience-from 2012 to 2014 he was an Operations Manager at Nova radio station.
