EastEnders is gearing up a shocking surprise for Ben Mitchell as his former rival Danny Hardcastle returns to Walford later this month.
As previously confirmed, ex-Brookside actor Paul Usher had resumed his role as a criminal Danny since his action-packed stint last year. Viewers know that Danny proved to be extremely troublesome for several of Albert Square's residents last year, having gone down to Walford to resolve some unfinished business with his former associate–and Ben's dad–Phil.
As the story progressed, Danny had kidnapped Phil's teenage daughter, Louise, before her being rescued by the Mitchells.
Confident that he saw the last of the villains, Ben will be taken aback when Danny makes an unexpected visit to the Square.
It's not long until things get heated between the two with plenty of unfinished business to discuss, but just what brings Danny back? And how is Ben going to handle this?
Danny's recovery comes at a tough time for Ben, who sustained additional hearing loss after a head injury during a boat collision last month.
The storyline paves the way for the introduction of a new deaf character named Frankie, played by the deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
