There’s never a boring moment in Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) and Rita Tanner’s (Barbara Knox) life on Coronation Street, and they’re about to be thrown into a car accident.
Audrey is still upset by Rita’s betrayal, accusing Gail (Helen Worth) and Claudia (Rula Lenska) of laughing behind her back at her.
Gail throws Audrey a surprise birthday party in an attempt to cheer her up, but Audrey is disappointed to discover just Gail, Sarah (Tina O’Brien), and David (Jack P Shepherd) at her lunch.
Even worse, Audrey is irritated by her old-lady gifts and snaps at Gail for noting on her squinting while reading.
Audrey loses her cool and walks off when Rita shows her, seeking to bury the hatchet.
Audrey reverses the car as she gets in, but there is a loud smash.
Gail appears and informs Audrey that she had reversed into Rita’s car!
When Rita finds what has transpired, she is outraged, but will Audrey compensate her?
