CORONATION STREET villain Gary Windass is about to face the ghosts of his past as a character he would never wish to see returning to the cobbles again. Knowing its deadly secret, are they going to expose a killer to him?

Gary has managed to keep a mystery on Coronation Street so far to the limits of his criminal activities, despite his neighbors mostly aware of his dodgy dealings. What they aren't told is that the criminal only got the role on the ITV soap last year after killing loan shark Rick Neelan (Greg Wood). The villain is about to have his world turned upside down when a person who knows about his cruel ways returns to Weatherfield with his life somewhat settling fatal shooting tragic event at Christmas.

Rick dealt with his clients alongside with his hench-woman, Sharon (Naomi Copper-Davis), who helped to press the money-borrowers for cash during his reign of terror over the cobbles.

It seems she had more of a heart than her boss because, on several occasions, the associate of the loan shark took pity on Gary.

When the antagonist murdered the thief after seeing him as a danger, he was the first to go to the friend of the moneylender for answers.

The resident of Weatherfield cracked as he told her he had killed Rick, and this was Sharon's last viewers seen before she made her exit after promising to keep the villain's secret.

The secret, however, will come under threat of exposure in coming scenes as the hench-woman of the deceased character returns to the cobbles.

Next week, the drama kicks off when Gary takes part in a house clearance to get supplies for his antique dealership, which is in front of his criminal empire.

As he buries through the relics, when he sees Sharon, the villain is rocked to the core after thinking Rick's murder was long behind.

It seems the associate of the former loan shark hasn't given up her way of collecting money as she's on the lookout for an older man who has a debt to pay.

Their meeting goes a little bit better than expected as Sharon suggests that the pair team expand their criminal empire.

Recently Gary has told his fiancé, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), his illegal activities are behind him and he wants to turn a new leaf on.

With that weighing on his conscience, after being briefly tempted, the loan shark refuses to accept the proposal of Rick's henchwoman.

Although it seems this would be the last fans to see the former cast member, when the antagonist calls later in the week, she rears her head once more.

After discovering Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), Gary's fiancé was sleeping with Ali Neeson (James Burrows) just hours before the villain proposed.

As he heads up with Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) on his honeymoon, the hotshot lawyer shares a lie of smugness when he asks his love rival.

What the loan shark has found has yet to be proven, but the consequences will see him make contact with Sharon.

Weatherfield's bad boy tells Rick's associate that he will hand over an old list of clients to her deceased bosses, but only if she helps him with a favor.

If the suspect informs Sharon that he wants revenge on Ali, will she start worrying that he will end up committing yet another assassination?

Thinking he's playing hard if the former character reported him to the police, Gary might have confirmed his demise.

Landing himself in the firing line, the protagonist could finally come to light and sacrifice everything, including his fiancé Maria as the severity of his hellish behavior.

Or will he say another life when Rick's hench-woman is silenced over fears she will reveal his dark secrets?
