CORONATION STREET’S long-suffering Yasmeen Nazir could turn to one of the most unlikely of Weatherfield residents in upcoming scenes as concerns about her abusive marriage reach a head – but who could the character to help her be?
Yasmeen (played by Shelley King) has left many of her Coronation Street neighbours worried, given she has become increasingly isolated from everyone around her since she married husband, Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew). However, the likes of Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill) and Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) have fallen for the villain’s lies, as he continues to control every aspect of his wife’s life. Unlike them, there is one character on the ITV soap who has gone through a very similar ordeal to the long-suffering pensioner. As the grandmother becomes more concerned about her own well-being and wanting to escape her abuser’s clutches, could she turn to Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) for advice?
