David Platt's life in Coronation Street will be in danger. Hairdresser David will be the victim of a terrifying gang scenario involving knife-wielding thugs.
Filming images released by the People are showing David being attacked in a back alley by the evil thugs before trying to escape.
He escapes and runs away, but the blade-carrying gang pursues him, and viewers are left thinking if David can survive his ordeal.
A source told the newspaper: "After Shona was fired and losing her memory, David has suffered. That allows him to put himself in a risky situation."
Viewers know that Clayton Hibbs violently knifed David's first wife, Kylie Platt, to death, leaving David shocked.
He ended up finding love again with Shona, the mother of Clayton, but she was forced to stab her son while trying to get him to hand himself in after his prison escape. Shona was shot most recently at Christmas and suffered complications during the operation, which left her with brain damage and no ability to remember who she is with David or her life. David was shocked last week as Shona told her medical team in Leeds doctors that she no longer wanted to see him as she concentrated on trying to heal her brain.
Viewers were not pleased that David went to see Shona all the way, just to be turned away.
One said: "Why didn't David call her three hours before he went to see her? #Corrie"
Another said: "Poor David, they could have called him before he got the train, but he certainly would have insisted on going, #Corrie" A third said: "David getting told he couldn't see Shona, must be heartbreaking after driving all that way #Corrie" David went to jail last year after Audrey learned that he had helped his brother Nick steal her money. David came across Josh again in prison, and he was accused by the rapist of stabbing him. Luckily Paul Foreman stepped in and instructed Josh to tell the truth-and Shona stood by him all the way. David was released from jail, and he got married in the Bistro with Shona.
But now, with Shona unable to recognize who David is, are they going to be able to return to the way they were?
