Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall revealed that he is taking a break from the show for at least a fortnight while he and his family head into self-isolation in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.
It’s uncertain if the actor himself is unwell or has come into touch with Covid-19.
Alan, who has been playing Tyrone Dobbs on the Cobbles for more than 20 years, tweeted a photo of his family telling viewers he was moving into lockdown.

Sharing from his former marriage to Lucy-Jo Hudson with his co-star and girlfriend Tish Merry, 26, and six-year-old daughter Sienna-Rae, he wrote: “Got all I need to be self-quarantine.”
One fan replied: “Lovely picture Alan just hoping you’re well (sic) safe.” Another added: “Beautiful picture, stay healthy and keep smiling.” The news comes when TV bosses worry they may be forced to cut down to two shows a week due to the Coronavirus.
Another mystery Corrie star has been believed to be in self-isolation after holidaying in a virus hotspot, but if it is Alan, it has not been confirmed.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale have spoken about the filming schedule in an emergency because more actors decide to take time out.

They are running six shows a week but should things escalate more, that might be cut down to only two, or even entirely pulled off the air.
A TV insider said: “The rationing of scripts is a sensible bet.”So the real challenges would arise if they couldn’t find viewers behind them to put new ones in front of the camera.” If this were the case for a long time, they might just run out of episodes.”This is an eventuality that no one desires, but it’s something that might happen. “But an ITV spokesman said they were” confident “filming.
