Coronation Street’s Geoff Metcalfe hires an escort after Yasmeen Nazir confronts him.

Geoff Metcalfe from Coronation Street hired an escort yesterday (March 18) after lashing out at Yasmeen Nazir, in startling scenes. Tonight’s episodes saw Alya finally do a web search on Geoff to try to locate evidence to prove her allegations about him, to she discovered out he and a previous partner named Jocelyn Barrie had been charged with causing an affray five years earlier.

Alya told Yasmeen about this when Geoff was on the estate agents, and Yasmeen asked about the incident in the second episode. Geoff said he wasn’t going to get angry, but it didn’t take long for him to start screaming at Yasmeen and throw her food on the floor.
He ordered her not to wait for him, then stormed her out and left her in tears. Instead, we saw him with an escort in a restaurant which he had booked named Rachel.
Yasmeen will soon try to avoid Geoff’s control, but unfortunately, the story of coercive domination takes another dark turn.

Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Corrie has confirmed that they will not shoot kissing scenes to “minimize contact.” However, both the soap and Emmerdale have shortened the weekly number of episodes, so they don’t run out on a reduced production schedule.

The last-minute change allows all soaps to stay on the air for as long as possible in the wake of the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, Digital Spy can only exclusively that this would cause a range of timeline problems, with holidays such as Easter already being marked on the wrong dates on the screen. Producers are hoping that in this unusual situation, beyond the control of production managers, audiences can demonstrate empathy. […]
