DANNY Dyer can no longer pull pints in Queen Vic because his character exits as a landlord. The beloved EastEnders, 42, has been revealed in the iconic role since leaving the BBC1 drama as Mick Carter in 2013. But thanks to Mick’s wife and fellow landlord Linda’s struggle with alcoholism, Mick is selling up, ensuring two of the biggest names in Walford–including the warring ex-couple Phil and Sharon -They must compete for takeover as the Carters move to Albert Square elsewhere.

A soap insider said: “It makes sense for Mick to push the family out of the pub with Linda unable to quit booze. “His decision will spark a bidding war between some of Walford’s residents who fancy taking on the biggest job.

“Viewers will be disappointed to see Danny no longer behind the bar, but that doesn’t mean he won’t come back at any stage in the future.” Linda, played by Kellie Bright, hit the booze to cope with the burden of being ostracized by school parents attended by youngest son Olly, who was diagnosed with autism.

Her problem nearly cost Linda her life during last month’s boat crash when her leg was stuck in the galley of the boat when she struggled desperately to find a bottle of cooking wine. With the kitchen slowly filling in with water, Mick was compelled to deliberately smash her leg to save her from drowning and rescue her.
