EastEnders officials have indicated that drunken Linda Carter would meet a horrible fate in a dramatic trailer in the 35th Anniversary boat party tragedy
Next week the BBC soap will mark the anniversary with a dramatic run of episodes, and one character will be killed as a boat party takes a disastrous turn on the River Thames. Recent updates on the website of the soap have also revealed that several characters will survive the series, although the fates of Linda and her husband Mick are still to be confirmed.
In the previews of the episodes that will air after the disaster of the boat party, the characters listed include Jean Slater and Whitney Dean, both of whom are on board the Thames boat.
Certain characters like Lola Pierce, Keegan Baker, Tiffany Butcher, and Shirley Carter, all set to face their chaos in the days following the disaster.
While these many characters are still in the line of fire, it has become more likely that one of the Carters will not survive the boat party.
Phil Mitchell is also prepared for a heart-stopping clash with his friend, Ben Max Bowden, and enemy, Keanu Taylor, who came back to Walford by surprise on the run.
Ian Beale could also put himself in harm's way when he went on a furious rampage after hearing that his son Bobby had been kidnapped.
In the wake of the previews, EastEnders has released a trailer revealing the anniversary episodes, which will be shown from three different perspectives on the same day.
While it doesn't reveal who's knocking on the boat, Mick Carter is seen dragging his wife Linda out of the sea as a ship floods
The trailer also features Ian struggling to navigate his way through a boat that slowly floods with water, and a haunting final shot shows the vessel shaking with Mick and Linda both stuck inside.
The once-solid couple's marriage has fallen apart in the last few months when Linda has fallen into drinking. If they survive the boat disaster, it remains to be seen whether they can restore their relationship.
