The forthcoming anniversary episode of Eastenders will air next week, but those accustomed to watching early releases of the show on BBC iPlayer will have to wait a little longer.

On Monday, February 20, a special program will run that will highlight some of the Walford women. The anniversary episode will be an exception to the rule, which is that new episodes now often go live on iPlayer at 6am on the day of their initial BBC One screening.

On Friday, February 17, the revelation was revealed by the soap’s official Twitter account, which also teased: “In a flash everything changes… Monday 7.30pm on BBC One.”

When a significant plot development occurs, EastEnders frequently suspends morning iPlayer releases for entire episodes.

For instance, the episode in December depicting Dot Branning’s funeral was not made available for early streaming since it included the unexpected comeback of Adam Woodyatt as Ian Beale. A few episodes during the Christmas and New Year period also had their television debuts before going on iPlayer.

On the anniversary episode of EastEnders, characters like Linda, Stacey, Suki, Kathy, Denise, and Sharon will get along during a pub lock-in and discuss their common experiences and current events.

One plot line in the show will center on Sharon and Keanu, who will have a passionate reunion in the Queen Vic’s restroom.

Their joy, however, won’t last long because Keanu soon gets a voicemail from Sam teasing their relationship in Spain.

Recently, Danny Walters, who portrays Keanu, stated of his relationship with Sharon: “There’s certainly a lot of unfinished business between them when Keanu last left the Square.”

Danny continued, “Keanu would like to try again with Sharon and build those foundations. He just wants to make a family for himself and his son Albie.”

He continued, “Keanu is pretty naïve in his mental process in that he loves and cherishes Sharon when he looks at her.

“He is quite confident and upbeat about bringing about that future. As Sharon has been hurt in the past and doesn’t want to be hurt again, she keeps people at a greater distance. She feels a lot of push and pull, as well as extreme heat and cold.”
