EASTENDERS resident Karen Taylor was forced to step-up and look after her grandson Kayden in recent weeks after Sharon Mitchell was left struggling to cope with the newborn. Now, could she be dealt with another shock as Mitch Baker makes a huge confession?
EastEnders viewers saw Sharon Mitchell (played by Letitia Dean) wrecked after her teenage son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) passed away following the boat party tragedy last month. After giving birth to baby son Kayden, she later asked Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) to take him off her hands. However, with Karen now having a lot to deal with herself, could she be left in a new dilemma after Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) drops a bombshell on the BBC soap?
Karen is well-known as the matriarch of the Taylor/Baker family and is never shy about getting her true feelings out in the open.
The mum is also the first to defend her children and even fought her son Keanu’s (Danny Walters) corner when the truth came out about his affair with Sharon.
She was left devastated when she believed her son had been killed but later discovered he was alive thanks to Martin Fowler (James Bye), who decided to tell the truth.
Keanu later came back to fight his battles once more as he came face-to-face with a furious Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) at the boat party.Â
With the rest of Walford on board celebrating, the pair wasted no time trying to kill each other and it wasn’t long before things took a harrowing turn.
The boat crashed and it was Sharon’s son Dennis who unfortunately lost his life after not being able to free himself in time.
Keanu was the one to deliver the news to Sharon, who had just given birth to baby Kayden and she soon demanded Keanu to leave and never come back.
With Keanu out of the picture, Sharon was left on her own to bring up her newborn son alone but it didn’t take long before
It became clear it was too much for Sharon to deal with so soon after Dennis’ shock death and close friend Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) hatched a plan to help out.
Ian, full of guilt about the circumstances surrounding Dennis’ fate, offered Karen a generous amount of money to leave the Square and take Kayden with her.
Karen accepted full-time responsibility of Kayden but has been reluctant to leave her family behind for good.
However, it seems Karen might actually decide to exit Walford after one family member offers to come with her.
Karen’s ex, Mitch, has been a source of great help in recent months after the mum has been faced with many challenges.
Although Karen and Mitch are no longer romantically involved, they remain close and it seems they could be about to become closer once more.
In upcoming episodes, Mitch will make Karen a huge offer, telling her he and his young daughter Bailey (Kara-Leah Fernandez), would be up for moving in with her.
She is left thrilled by the gesture and looks to the future with baby Kayden away from the Square.Â
It comes after she mentions leaving the Square to on/off boyfriend Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and he is left hurt by the news.
Later on, Mitch makes a shock confession to Karen, leaving her unsure how to react – but what has he said?
It could be that Mitch has decided he wants to start his relationship afresh with Karen and has admitted his true feelings.
Could Karen now decide to leave Walford on her own after Mitch’s news or will he end up back her good books after she comes around to the news?
