EASTENDERS ‘ infamous bad boy, Phil Mitchell, may be set for a steamy affair in the coming weeks when he eventually returns to Walford-another resident join him when he takes on a new lover? Phil (played by Steve McFadden) had several relationships during his time at EastEnders, most notably with his ex-wife Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean), ex-wife Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) and the mother of his son, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth). In recent weeks, Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) has been absent from the BBC drama after taking the cover for supposedly murdering a love rival. Furthermore, with his wife’s toyboy resurfacing in the episodes of the 35th anniversary last month, there is no excuse for the bad boy to be away from the Square. Can one of his colleagues and Walford resident find their way back to continue an affair with him?
During the eve of the 30th anniversary of the soap in 2015, the residents of the Square welcomed Vixen Karin Smart (Denise van Outen), who had ulterior reasons to live in the East End of London. The blonde explosion was hired and revealed as Phil’s supposed business partner, and she ended up assisting him with his suspicious deeds during her brief period.Just a part of five series, the smooth talker made her name when she conspired Max Branning (Jake Wood) to turn over the car lot to his arch-nemesis.
After fooling the businessman, the troubled pair revelled with glee but thrown back together, will they rely on the attraction between them? During an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, actress Denise, 45, spoke about a potential return to the BBC drama, five years since her alter-was last seen on the Square.
The soap star explained, “I enjoyed it. I just did five episodes, and it wasn’t like I was there long enough. “It seemed like I just popped in for EastEnders and did a little bit and left to be honest, “but does that mean a more extended stint on the horizon in the future? Could fans get to hear more of Ms Smart if she returns to Walford if Phil’s new lover following his split from Sharon? The bad boy has been hiding in Spain since January with ex-wife Lisa and their daughter, Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) Yet with the grandma assisting the youngster in raising her newborn, could Phil have reconnected with Karin abroad? The gangster has always had a soft spot for the blonde, and may very well have turned his professional, personal life around. Viewers are going to have to wait to see if the troubled character makes a comeback, but what does that mean for the father-of-two to his wife?
Sharon has been devastated after her son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) died last month in a boat party accident. The disaster struck as a result of Phil’s gunning for vengeance against her toyboy lover Keanu, causing the vessel to collide with a barge. Unfortunately, his step-son had been trapped in one of the chambers below the deck, and while he had made it to the top, the youngest had succumbed to his ordeal. In the coming scenes, the teenage graduation day is arriving, and it’s fair to say, tempers are flaring.
Coming face-to-face with her estranged husband, Sharon will have a few words of choice for him about the death of her son, but will Phil surprise her with more devastating news?
Will he be back in Walford asking for a divorce while he sets his sights on former resident Karin? Bad boys would be welcome again, because fans were wondering where and, yes, when the stalwart will show his face again. But does he live to regret his decision to come back when he faces the wrath of more than a handful of characters?
