Since the boat crash in EastEnders, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) made a promise to Mick (Danny Dyer) that she admitted that she was an alcoholic and therefore resolved to give up the alcohol. Still, in the following episodes, she seems to be struggling with the commitment because she ends up taking another drink.
Linda’s reliance on the booze almost ruined her family— something that struck her home when she and Mick almost lost their lives on the party boat. She has since promised to give up the drink — and she has managed to keep her promise, given how much she has suffered.
She refuses to encourage Shirley (Linda Henry) to dampen the progress she has made thus far in the coming episodes. She then reassures the social worker, before heading off to be there for Sharon (Letitia Dean) during her time of need, as Dennis ‘ (Bleu Landau) funeral arrives.
Sharon notices something that Linda missed during the ceremony, and as a result, she speaks a few cruel words — leaving the Queen Vic landlady mortified.
Eventually, Linda admits to Mick that she is eager to return to full-time life, and then finds Shirley’s vodka and pours a drink for herself. Shirley catches Linda, and as Mick appears, Linda admits she had a drink. How Is Mick going to react?
