EastEnders revealed a violent outburst of Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) in intense scenes tonight as he lost his calm defence of his sister Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) from vile, homophobic abuse.
Vinny had arranged a party and loved showing off his DJ skills, spurred on by Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) – but things soon got out of hand as the party gathered more people and created a huge noise disturbance in the Square.
When the police arrived on the scene, Vinny attempted to disperse everyone, but a former friend of his used chaos to be vulgar to Ash and his girlfriend, Iqra Ahmed (Priya Davdra).
When he taunted them and told them that he could turn them over before branding them ‘frigid d***s’ in a terrible torrent, Vinny overheard and marched over.
His too-called friend repeated his aggressive onslaught, which caused Vinny to snap and smash him to the ground before persistently kicked him in a blind rage.
Iqra and Ash finally pulled him off and reminded him that the police were outside, but actor Shiv reckons that this outburst could be a sign of how his alter ego could turn – especially to defend his family.
The actor said, “Vinny switches — he can go off like a firework, someone just has to set that fuse. He ends up insulting his old mate – and he’s showing so much anger, it’s a switch to his affable and sweet nature.
