Emmerdale viewers believe that Bernice Blackstock’s saucy innuendo may have put the serial at risk of receiving official complaints. The new B&B owner had to speak with Wendy Posner during the ITV show’s journey to the Dales on Thursday night after Posner accused her and their new business partner Bob Hope of having affairs.
When Bernice and Bob took a break from successfully reopening The Grange after taking over the company from Eric Pollard, Nurse Wendy heard them conversing and realized she had the incorrect end of the stick. They were genuinely discussing Bernice’s meeting with harpist Tim, though.
When the guitarist who had been hired to play at the B&B’s reopening failed to awaken, Bob assumed he had passed away. He took a sleeping tablet to stop Bernice’s snoring, but later came out of the guest room having overslept.
After dousing a bewildered Bob in a bucket of cold water and taking her to the doctor’s office to clarify everything to Wendy, Bernice said: “Tim, the harp player, and I shared a bed. Oh Wendy, you ought to have seen him with that amazing fingering.”
Bernice continued, “I mean to be fair it had been a very long and fallow time,” before saying that she had wrongly believed she had killed the harpist during their shared evening.
However, Emmerdale viewers who flocked to social media to comment seemed shocked by the prior remark. Tweeted @lesleylyness: “#Emmerdale Bernice, should I say that. Before the flood at nine o’clock…”
“Excuse me, it’s before the watershed,” commented @deanobeanos in reference to Emmerdale. “Watch now when the fingering comment receives a load of complaints #emmerdale,” tweeted @teamkinGZioN. Added by @WilliamWillh: “I puked when she said “fingering” #emmerdale.”
In the meantime, Bernice’s daughter Gabby Thomas failed to please the audience when she started dating Nicky, the nanny of her son. Despite their obvious chemistry, Nicky has been hesitant to seek a relationship with Gabby because she is his superior.
Nicky, however, took offense and resigned when she threatened to fire him “for a few hours” so they could see where the mood leads them. He later went back to Home Farm, where they finally gave in to their passion and agreed to continue seeing each other in secret while Nicky continued to care for her son Thomas.
But @Ems03700691 voiced a grievance: “Just creepy, Gabby’s chase of the childminder. Ofcom would receive a ton of calls if a male had been pursuing a woman in that manner.” “Gabby’s behavior with Nicky is disgusting (and so was dawn’s “joke”),” tweeted @CPTSDBiDisaster. Added by @maitra sulagna “That relationship between Gabby and her employee is toxic and messed up—not in a good manner! #Emmerdale.”
