After actor Steve Halliwell was spotted filming upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, EMMERDALE fan favourite Zak Dingle is reportedly making a comeback to the Dales.
Zak Dingle (played by Stephen Halliwell) wasn't seen in the Dales since mid-2019 when his beloved wife Lisa (Jane Cox) disappeared.
After EastEnders ' 35th anniversary week and Coronation Street's Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) saying goodbye to the cobbles, the news of Zak's comeback emerged during a very hectic time in soapland. Also in recent weeks, Emmerdale was packed full of suspense after the mystery of who fired Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) and Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather) return. With so much going on, viewers who have watched the much-loved character struggle with the grief of losing his wife Lisa last year will certainly accept Zak's return.
A source confirmed the news to The Sun Online who clarified why star Steve has been away from the ITV show in the last few months.

The report states: "Steve is back on the set and is already filming scenes for Zak's return to the show." He was off-screen for a break but it was mainly because Zak wasn't interested with Who Shot Graham's storyline.
"But fans will miss him-after all, he's a legendary show-and in a couple of weeks ' time he'll be back on their screens." He's going to have a great time back on the set and everyone was really happy to see him at the job.

A spokeswoman for Emmerdale revealed Steve's "been shooting for a while" to Express.co.uk and he "hasn't appeared on screen as he hasn't been interested in the major drama" that has arisen lately.
Meanwhile, it is not clear exactly how or when Zak will return to the village.
However, the Dingle family are never short of drama and if recent scenes are anything to go by
Nate was hurried to hospital with a bullet wound in his torso and could spell future trouble for Cain.
It may, however, also spell trouble for Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Will (Dean Andrews), as they belonged to the gun used.
Can Zak come back in time to save Cain's day before he finds himself in more trouble?
However he returns, soap fans will be glad to see him back in recent weeks with several calling for his return.
One user posted earlier this month:"@JurellCarter Hi always enjoys Emmerdale hoping Zak will be back soon and help Cain and Nate make peace." A second agreed: " Zak needs to come back soon so maybe #Emmerdale @emmerdale." While another added: " Zak will support Cain and Nate unite? #Emmerdale. " Fans should keep their eyes peeled to see what the future holds for the Dingles.
