Mackenzie Boyd from Emmerdale is in trouble for cheating on Charity, but that one-night fling appears to be set to backfire on him.
Sadly, shortly after finding Charity had an etopic pregnancy, Mackenzie and Charity experienced the death of their child.
After that, Charity and Mackenzie found it difficult to speak with one another, and he found solace in the arms of a different, mysterious woman.
Mackenzie had hoped that he would never hear from his lover again, but he quickly discovers that this is not the case, and his efforts to persuade her to cease contacting him are unsuccessful.
To further complicate matters, Charity then decides to freely and honestly communicate with Mack, sharing with him the impact losing their kid had on her and dropping hints that she could be open to attempting to have another child with him in the future.
Due to his increased sense of shame over what happened as a result, Mackenzie decides to tell her the truth.
When Charity takes him upstairs to the bedroom, though, it doesn’t work well either, so he decides to stay quiet rather than risk losing out her.
Charity is excited about the prospect of a vacation, which Mackenzie arranges for the couple in order to allay his guilt and give them the break they need.
And leaving the nation might be the best thing Mackenzie can do since he soon receives a call from his enigmatic admirer again, despite his express request that she not get in touch with him.
Whoever this is doesn’t seem to be pleased on the idea of giving up on Mackenzie. How far will their relationship go, who is his mystery lover, and what hope does Mack have of winning Charity’s forgiveness?
