Mackenzie (Emily Weir) just told Logan (Harley Bonner) that she isn’t ready to date yet after he asked her out in Salt. To Ziggy (Sophie Dillman), she justifies her decision, claiming that she doesn’t need any more turmoil in her life.
Ziggy, on the other hand, notices something Mack overlooks: Logan put his phone number on a coaster, along with a message to call him if she changes her mind.
Despite Ziggy’s belief that Mackenzie and Logan would make a fantastic couple, Mack continues to reject the possibility of a relationship and urges Ziggy to drop it. However, Ziggy’s obstinacy shines through, as she takes control of Mackenzie’s phone when her attention is diverted.
Despite Dean’s (Patrick O’Connor) best efforts, Ziggy sends Logan a message disguised as Mackenzie, prompting him to contact her as she leaves the hospital. Mack is enraged and scolds Ziggy for meddling with her love life — she’d just had an unpleasant phone chat with the new doctor.
Mackenzie resolves to quit being frightened of love after some contemplation and a conversation with Dean, and she leaves an embarrassing message for Logan. When she doesn’t hear from him, her concern grows, and it rapidly turns to rage as she suspects he’s playing games with her.
Dean attempts to persuade Mack that Logan is a decent man, but she refuses to trust him, and when they meet in the hospital, she attacks him.
When she waits for him to react, however, he sways and drops out on the floor, much to her surprise…
