Ziggy tries a cunning technique to build up the romance between Mackenzie and Logan on next week’s episode of Home and Away in the UK, while Dean struggles with his first day of rehab.

Last week, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) saw Mackenzie (Emily Weir) couldn’t take her gaze away from new physician Logan Bennett (Harley Bonner).

The two were introduced under unusual circumstances — Logan rescued Dean’s life after a horrible automobile accident – but after it was obvious that Dean (Patrick O’Connor) was safe, Mackenzie turned her attention to the Medical Response Unit doctor’s other assets.

Logan had seen Mac as well and had offered to buy her a drink at Salt the previous week.

Unfortunately, he was turned down — even Mac was startled when she turned down his overtures, telling him she wasn’t looking for anything right now. She appears to need a break from relationships to focus on herself following her unsuccessful relationship with Ari and her tragic miscarriage.

Ziggy, on the other hand, thinks that Mac is incorrect the following week. She should pursue anything with Logan, and if she doesn’t want to do it on her own, Ziggy will assist her.

What’s the worst that might happen?

Even the ex-River Boy can tell that there’s something between them as Mackenzie joins Logan in the hospital to check on Dean. Dean wonders if she’s actually in the hospital to visit him or merely to hang out with the hot new doctor.

Dean intervenes just as Logan is ready to leave his first physio appointment. “What’s the deal with you and my sister rocking up together yesterday?” he says in front of Mackenzie and Ziggy.

Logan freely assures Dean, “trust me mate, it’s not a thing.” It appears that doctor-patient confidentiality does not apply to his connection with Mac, as he tells Dean, “belief me mate, it’s not a thing.” I mean, I was excited to try it, but she wasn’t.”

Despite her chagrin at Logan’s candor, Mackenzie accepts a ride back to the bay with him. Despite her refusal, he is his normal charming self, and as they say their goodbyes at Salt, he lays a kiss on her cheek, making her heart skip a beat. Is she truly over men as she believed?

When she downloads to Ziggy, she maintains that she isn’t seeking any more turmoil in her life, but Zig is skeptical.

Mackenzie tells her, “Shutting down the whole thing was the correct thing to do.”

“Have you, however, [turned it off]?” As she brings her a beer mat that Logan had left on the bar, Ziggy interrogates her. It includes his phone number as well as a message that reads, “In case you change your mind.”

He seemed to be still really interested.

“He’s attractive, and he’s interested in you.” Ziggy tells her buddy, “You’re attractive, you’re into him,” and urges her to phone him.

When Mac continues to refuse to pursue him, Ziggy decides to take matters into her own hands. Mackenzie leaves the room for food and leaves her phone on the table when they next visit Dean. Ziggy’s brain suddenly forms the ideal strategy.

With a wicked smirk, she tells Dean that Mac is going to send an SMS to Logan.

Dean can’t exactly leap out of bed and stop her, even if he thinks it’s a bad idea! The text is sent before he realizes it, complete with a “kissy face” at the end.

Dean says, “Mac is going to rip you to shreds.”

Ziggy has a response for everything: “And it’ll all be worth it once she’s in Logan’s arms.”

When Mac gets a call a few minutes later, it’s a false alarm, and the newly reunited couple exchange concerned looks as she answers the phone.

Thankfully, it was only a new employee at Salt who called in sick, so they won’t have to see the awkwardness when Logan eventually calls.

Soon later, Mackenzie receives a call as she enters the elevator on her way out of the hospital.

She storms back into Dean’s hospital room, berating the two and informing them that she isn’t “some stupid adolescent.”

She tells Ziggy furiously, “I made a decision, and you should have respected it.” “I warned you several times!”

Despite Mac’s annoyance, it appears that their friendship is secure. For the time being.

It takes a word from Dean for her to realize she’s going to miss out on a fantastic chance for happiness.

While Dean acknowledges that Ziggy went about things incorrectly, he believes his girlfriend has a point regarding Logan. He’s seen the doctor at his finest, and he phones his sister to tell her that Logan is a terrific guy. He goes on to say that “maybe, you’re ready to be joyful.” It could be worthwhile to take the chance.”

While Mac is unsure what they did in the hospital to make her brother so gentle, she must agree he has a point.

She takes out her phone and the cut-up coaster the next morning as she walks down the beach after sleeping on it the night before, and calls the new doctor. It goes to voicemail, but she leaves him a lovely, though somewhat scrawled, message asking him to contact her back so they can plan that drink.

When a day passes and Mac hasn’t heard from her prospective new suitor, she becomes irritated.

Prepare to witness Mackenzie impersonate Jasmine Delaney as she lashes out at him for not responding to her, just before he goes out from a head injury. Oh, no.

Dean will continue to battle with his recuperation next week, as will Ziggy.

He shoved Ziggy away after she tried to sit in on his first rehab session last week, and when he couldn’t handle the exercises, he kicked the physio out of the room.

Logan visits Dean the next week, escorted by the two ladies in his life, and manages to cheer him up. He can’t, however, persuade Dean to change his mind.

Dean tells Ziggy that she won’t be able to stay with him as he begins his rehabilitation. He understands how difficult it is since he’s gone through it before, and he knows it’s best if she’s not there.

Logan, on the other hand, gives him a talking to. He informs his patient that he has seen “blokes in far worse shape than you” while in the service. He tells him that he has seen them push away the people they care about on numerous occasions. They didn’t want to appear weak, but the individuals they pushed away ultimately left.

Dean realizes he can’t keep pushing Ziggy away indefinitely. The fact that they’ve only recently rekindled their relationship is all the more incentive for him to keep her near.

Logan’s admonition is effective. Logan texts Mac and invites her and Ziggy to the hospital the next day, as Dean begins his second session. They arrive just in time to see Dean take his first steps on crutches, and he graciously allows them to stay and observe.

Mac gasps, “What did you do?” as she stares in awe at Logan’s impact on her brother. “Well, you did turn out to be the miracle worker, didn’t you?”

When Ziggy is alone with Dean, she tells him that she is committed to him and that he will not be able to get rid of her. “Whether you like it or not, I’m here for it all.” They cement the agreement with a kiss when Dean accepts.

Will his and Ziggy’s newfound happiness survive as his physio challenges continue in the coming weeks?
