Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie on Home and Away, has expressed her desire for her character’s family to appear on the show.
Mackenzie’s half-brother Dean has previously been introduced, as has their father Rick, but little else about her other family members have been disclosed.
Weir told Inside Soap, “I’d love to see her with her brothers, as well as Mac’s mother.” “I’d want to meet her, and I’d like Emma Thompson to portray her – I adore her!”
“Learning more about Mac’s relationship with her parents would be intriguing.” Despite the fact that we’ve never met Mackenzie’s mother, she claims to have a close relationship with her.”
Weir also shared what Mackenzie’s followers want to know about her love life. The Summer Bay resident split up with her partner Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) earlier this year, subsequently discovering she was pregnant but tragically lost the child.
While in a downward spiral, she kissed her closest friend Ziggy’s boyfriend Tane Parata (Ethan Browne).
Fans want the possible relationship between Tane and Weir to continue on the programme, according to Weir.
“When Mackenzie and Ari first started dating, there was always an underlying sexual connection with his brother,” she revealed. “It was a weird love triangle, but it was entertaining to portray.”

However, there have been rumours that Mackenzie and Logan, the new doctor introduced to the programme, are dating (Harley Bonner).
