After nearly a decade abroad, he is scheduled to reprise his appearance as Angelo Rosetta on Home and Away.
And Luke Jacobz, 39, took the chance on Wednesday to tease fans about his return to Summer Bay while wearing a mask at Bondi Beach.
Taking to Instagram, Luke shielded his face with a surgical mask, black and gold shades, and sunglasses.
‘Who’s the past ghost @homeandaway … Can you see it from the front? ‘He read, adding the backtothebay hashtags, staysafe and covidstyle.
The actor then added: ‘It’s a strange thing to do… It’s just the usual look now.’
A lot of fans of the series were clearly excited about Luke and his return to the popular Australian drama.
‘We were shocked when Angelo was fired and looked forward to seeing you back at the bay mate,’ one fan wrote. One remarked: ‘Angelo.’
Luke recently moved to Sydney from Los Angeles to reassume his job as Angelo. He has previously told The Daily Telegraph that he was hired by Channel Seven in January.
‘[Network executives] called me in and asked,’ What do you feel about Angelo returning to the bay? “the actor asked.
‘I said “pretty good”-and it was almost suddenly, “Okay, let’s get a shave, suit a wardrobe and looking at some scripts,” he enthused.
Luke announced earlier this month how his relationship with his American fiancée, Raychel Stuart, had been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic
Luke, 39, said: ‘Last time I saw her was in January sadly.’
The former X Factor star announced that the pair were hoping to move Down Under later this year, but were delayed.
‘In fact she was supposed to move around here now but she clearly couldn’t get over yet or even come to sit and see,’ he explained.
‘We decided that I will fly out there with an empty suitcase for every production stop over the year and just grab a T-shirt to start taking her things back and forth,’ he told the publication.
