The veteran actress Lynne McGranger, who has played the same part for the longest time in Australia, has disclosed how she intends to leave Home and Away.

The actress, who has played Irene Roberts on the venerable soap for 30 years, has outlined her farewell strategy and said she wants to go out on top.

The 70-year-old Lynne wants her departure from the show to be dramatic, despite the fact that she has won over the public with her portrayal of the motherly figure.

‘I want to depart with the largest bang, the most dramatic exit,’ she told Stuff.co.nz.

I want to be lost at sea or I want to have a truly tragic, drawn-out death with everyone around me crying and wailng.

Maybe Irene might drown at sea and no one would ever recover her body. After the memorial service, she might then return to town.

The seasoned soap performer claimed that when she looked back on her life, she had few regrets.

She and her husband Paul McWater have a daughter named Clancy, who is now 31 years old. She claimed she would have preferred to have spent more time with Clancy when she was younger.

When asked about her role models in life, Lynne acknowledged that there are many, but she felt that Johnny Ruffo, who portrayed Chris Harrington on Home And Away, was the most important.

The actor, who recently turned 35 and was diagnosed with terminal cancer, is actively fighting the disease.

Only a few days after beginning a new round of chemotherapy, he shared a photo to his Instagram account to commemorate the momentous occasion.

35 and definately feeling it!!! he said as the post’s caption.

Thankful for yet another trip around the sun. I appreciate the birthday wishes from everyone.
