In an exclusive interview, Home and Away actress Sophie Dillman acknowledged that she was “really lucky” when portraying Ziggy Astoni and recalled one of her favourite days working with the character.

Sophie Dillman, who plays Ziggy Astoni on Home and Away, revealed which day on set was one of her favourite.

The 29-year-old actress made her acting debut in 2017 as the fiery Ziggy, who recently gave birth to a baby girl.

The blonde beauty exclusively revealed to Daily Star that the day she had to simulate giving birth was one of the most enjoyable days she had on set.

She was really in her element, said Paddy O’Connor, who plays Ziggy’s partner Dean Thompson. There was no problem at all with the fact that she was screaming.

Then Sophie gushed about how fortunate she was to be playing a role that has experienced so many great plotlines over the previous six years.

“I believe that having a child should be on the bucket list of any actor who is physically capable of doing so. I had such a lucky run during Ziggy,” the celebrity remarked.

“I had a wedding, a fantastic cheating plot, and a birth. I’ve got a great love story, but I just had a baby,” she said in jest.

Although it was one of her favourite days on set, Sophie said it was also one of the most exhausting and gratifying experiences of her life.

“The day was really fun,” she added. It was quite difficult since it drains your energy to record painful things.

Technically speaking, it’s pretty challenging but also incredibly rewarding. You have to always be tense and conscious of the phases of pain and contractions, among other things.

“The coolest part about our storyline is that every director and writer that we had added their little bit of their birthing and pregnancy stories to ours,” the Australian actress continued.

Paddy, who played Dean for the first time in 2018, said he enjoyed taking childbirth classes as part of the plot and is eager to do so in the future.

“Especially considering how the plot involves childbirth classes. The 30-year-old remarked, “I can’t wait to take some childbirth classes in the future.

Because there were so many various kinds of parents there, he said, it was interesting to witness that. If you don’t have kids, you can’t possibly understand what it’s like.
