So here we were hoping that the news would only surprise people.
Whether they were a goodun' or a baddie, there is no questioning the surprise of any series being killed off by a key character-and for many Aussies, Home and Away tend to make one of the best memories of all.
As the new season debuted late January in 2020, viewers were shocked when a horrific car accident killed beloved character Robbo.

So distraught were they to discover that Jasmine's husband was no longer present, that some also went so far as to construct conspiracy theories that would ultimately mean the popular Summer Bay would finally come back from the dead.
Yeah, shock waves shake most of the world when these things happen-and oddly, these waves rock themselves right up into the cast's territories.
Talking in a candid new radio interview, Home and Away stalwart Ray Meagher, who is the voice behind the show's intimidating Alf Stewart, dished out some details that knocked us all for six, and obviously his fellow cast mates.
Chatting to Stav, Abby and Matt with Hit105, the Aussie actor admitted that even the actors themselves are often shocked to learn about the imminent deaths of their character-because they are not necessarily the first to find out.

Yeah, Meagher has stated that it's typically the partner of the actor who learns first about the sad snuff of the character.
Ray expanded on the situations he had experienced in his 32 years on the stage, revealing that some of the co-stars would see the scripts and exclaim, "Oh my god, I'm not in this!" But the actor then told the audience that it was "normally done in a decent, ordinary way." As for his own character, the presenters joked that they didn't think that Ray himself would figure out if his character, Alf, was the only root.

While it would undoubtedly be a curve ball to find out that your character's time was coming to a close on the show, it certainly opens up a whole new world of opportunities for actors who have graced the sands of the fictional township of Summer Bay over the years.
Some of Australia's most well-known Hollywood celebrities have made their first appearance on local soap-proving it to be a platform for emerging actors and actresses.

Perhaps one of these most popular is Chris Hemsworth, who played the lovable larrakin Kim on the series back in the early 2000s.Since the end of his role, the 36-year-old has since went on to star in some of the biggest titles in Film, including the Thor of the Marvel franchise.
