Luke Mitchell, who starred in Home and Away, has secured a recurring role on The Originals spinoff Legacies, which his wife Rebecca Breeds is also appearing in.

Luke announced his new job on Instagram earlier this month, simply saying, “OMG…” with a photo of the news article to express his delight.

According to Deadline, the actor debuted as Ken, a “malevolent god who has returned to take down Hope, the world’s lone tribrid, and recover his title as the world’s most powerful being.”

Luke’s fans and friends reacted positively to the news, with many congratulating him in the comments section.

“All hail le beard,” exclaimed Luke’s former Home and Away co-star Lincoln Younes, who was followed by Georgie Parker, who wrote, “Oh yes, finally you’re a God.” Congratulations.”

Fans were quick to respond, with one commenting, “WHATTTT???” In Legacies, you and Rebecca? YESSSSS.”

Another person remarked, “I -Hope- you have a moment with Aurora,” alluding to Rebecca’s role on the show. A third said, “I’m acting alongside Rebecca.”

It appears that the husband and wife will cross paths in the hit series, as Luke told TVLine that he was “very excited” to be working with Rebecca again.

“We may have a handful of scenes together,” he said. “Perhaps I’ve spoken too much, but our characters have a few exchanges.”

“She’s playing a 1,000-year-old vampire, and I’m playing an all-powerful deity, which isn’t too far from our real-life connection.” Just a smidgeon.”

It comes after Rebecca was cast in a recurring role on the show late last year, following the premiere of her character Aurora in The Originals.

Since Luke and his wife left the sandy shores of Summer Bay, the Australian actor has gone on to perform in a variety of international roles.

Luke went on to star in The CW’s The Tomorrow People and The Republic of Sarah after playing Romeo Smith on Home and Away from 2009 to 2013.

Blindspot on NBC and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. on ABC are among his other TV credits.
