In the United Kingdom, Neighbours will move to Channel 5 for the first time in 13 years.

It now airs twice a day, at 1.45 p.m. on weekdays and 5.30 p.m. on weekends.

Due to the arrival of a one-hour newscast at 5 p.m., the repeat will be moved to 6 p.m. in the coming weeks.

“As Channel 5 continues to draw greater audiences, its news production is an ever more essential element of the package it offers for viewers,” a Channel 5 spokeswoman told Digital Spy.

“Neighbours will move to Channel 5 in the evenings at 6 pm, following Ofcom’s approval of Channel 5’s 5 pm News Bulletin extension.

“The weekday 1.45 pm programme will remain the same, so viewers will still be able to catch up on My5 and watch their favourite Neighbours twice a day.”

In Australia, the show was recently reduced to four nights a week on 10 Peach, Monday through Thursday, to bring episodes in line with British broadcasts, according to sources.
