Following the devastating fire at Erinsborough High, Zara Zelwyn (Freya Van Dyke) has a lot of explaining to do in Neighbours.

Given all of the problems she has caused since showing up on Ramsay Street, the youngster is currently public enemy number one, as viewers are aware.

Her most recent stunt, in which she lied to and stole from Hendrix Grayson (Benny Turland), could be the final straw for her mother Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton), who is prepared to send her back home.

Zara had pretended to be dating Hendrix in order to impress new friends Aubrey Laing (Etoile Little) and Sadie Rodwell (Emerald Chan).

However, she has other concerns in Wednesday’s (March 2) episode of the Australian soap, when she and Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgia Stone) are stuck in the school as another fire breaks out.

What happens next following Tuesday’s (March 1) cliffhanger remains to be seen, but Aubrey and Sadie’s plan to blame Zara for the fire appears to be working like a charm.

In the aftermath of the fire, Zara protests her innocence, but few believe her. As a result, she lashes out at Aubrey, knowing full well that she is to blame.

‘Zara suspects Aubrey of starting the fires and is framing her for it,’ actress Freya Van Dyke said of the imminent clash to Metro.co.uk.

‘Zara asks Aubrey to tell the truth in these scenes. Zara snaps and attacks Aubrey when she refuses.’

The confrontation in question is seen on camera, with Zara allowing her frustrations to get the best of her, forcing Toadie (Ryan Moloney) to intervene.

Since her first appearance on the show, Zara has committed a slew of heinous acts. She is not, however, to blame for the fire. The question is whether she will be able to establish her innocence.

Zara is determined to stay with her mother, therefore she’ll go to any length,’ says Freya, when asked how far Zara will go.

‘This entails battling for the truth to be revealed and forgiving people,’ she says.

You’ll have to wait and see if she succeeds, but Freya told us that Zara’s quest for justice might show fans a whole new aspect of the character.

‘I think everyone will see how far Zara can be pushed and the desperation that’s exposed when she reaches her limit,’ she said.

But, aside from the flames, what can Zara’s followers expect from her?

‘I hope she learns from her mistakes and is able to grow as a person,’ added Freya. ‘There’s a lot of good in her that I would love audiences to get to see.’
