NEIGHBOURS will be hit with multiple tragedies through a series of late-night episodes to celebrate the soap's 35th anniversary in March, with the death of three characters so far confirmed. Who is going to wreak criminal havoc in these scenes after watershed?
Neighbours will be hit by tragedy as the soap marks 35 years of drama, with a host of later-than-usual scripts predicting the death of major characters. There will also be five weddings with current and past protagonists returning to Erinsborough despite this dramatic turmoil.
When it comes to celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Neighbours, the show's producers have raised the stakes, so much so that they're killing three important characters in March that will be broadcast in a special run of mid-night episodes.
The story would continue post-watershed, instead of being broadcast after lunchtime and then again in the early evening.
And if fans think three murders were a lot of drama, the Australian soap will also show five weddings that are set to take place over the whole week.
There's a big twist in mind, however, as these unions won't be limited to new Ramsay Street romances.
We will instead feature nuptials among those couples who never made it to the altar when they first appeared on the show.
No other big occasions are set to take place for the moment, but who is going to get embroiled in the dramas?
Finn Kelly , who after losing his memory turned his life around and became a force for good, would relapse and resume his former, evil ways.In shows due to take place at 10 p.m. this month, Finn will be part of a group that includes Toadie Rebecchi and Elly Conway, and they'll travel to a small island for her birthday celebration.
While the atmosphere is cheerful and festive, Elly and her peers are unaware that Finn has gone back to his nasty ways.
Marooned and miles away from support, they're going to be trapped while Finn plans to exact a brutal and unforgiving vengeance.
His rampage is set to take three lives-although it is not clear who is going to die.
It seems Elly is going to be a victim of whatever he has planned, as the actress who plays her has announced that she is leaving the soap.
"We’re excited to deliver our viewers a double dose of Neighbours which will lead to three deaths and five weddings.”
While he stressed the imminent threats, he did also want to reference the happier aspects of the 35th anniversary.
"There’s warmth and nostalgia as well as high drama and – for the first time ever – we’ll have a week-long narrative taking place separate to the happenings in Erinsborough,” he teased.
“Neighbours is 35 years young and we are celebrating with a bang!"
