‘Neighbours’ star Takaya Honda teases DEATH TERROR for David and Aaron

Takaya Honda, who plays David Tanaka on Neighbours, has revealed to whattowatch.com that his life is going to take a stunning new turn that will see him turn to the dark side!

After David’s mourning brother Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) implored them to take on his motherless daughter Abigail, David and his husband Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) experienced a few holes in their otherwise rock strong marriage.

The scenario was particularly emotional because David and Aaron raised Abi as their own daughter, Isla, during the first few months of her life.

“David informed Aaron on several occasions that Leo just needed time to adjust. “However, Aaron goes on his own journey of dealing with the sadness he had when he first gave up Abigail,” Takaya stated.

“It wasn’t mentioned in the show, but Matt [Wilson] was working with the idea that Aaron grew up without a father figure, so the prospect of Abigail growing up without a solid father figure worries him.”

When Aaron and David couldn’t agree on how to handle Abigail, David vented his concerns to Dean Covey (Travis Cotton), a hospital cleaner.

“Dean is someone who can provide him with an objective viewpoint,” Takaya explained.

“We all have colleagues at work with whom we chat about things that are going on in our personal life,” she says.

Aaron didn’t see it that way, and a green eye attack results in him hitting a stunned Dean!

Aaron leaves David behind after he cancels his vacation at a country retreat with some of the Ramsay Street crew. David requests privacy, but Dean tries to kiss him!

“Who can blame him?” says the narrator. He’s itching to go into David’s crotch! David is a very attractive and pleasant young man!” Takaya burst out laughing.

Isn’t David being a little naive here?

“He doesn’t know what it’s like to be pursued by someone,” Takaya admitted.

“David had a brief period of playing the field after Aaron and David met, but Aaron was always going to be the one for him.”

“Dean may have been overt, but from David’s perspective, he was just a friend.”

David goes out to see Aaron, feeling guilty for not listening to Aaron and anxious to feel the love once more.

Aaron makes a startling discovery on the way to the River Bend retreat, where he is with Glen, Levi, Freya, Harlow, Ned, and Nicolette…

“David discovers Aaron on the side of the road, unconscious and bloodied!” Takaya revealed.

“He’s on the verge of passing away, and David isn’t sure whether he’ll ever be able to apologise to his husband.” Perhaps the final minutes he has with him will be furious ones.”

Takaya refused to reveal the horrific events that led to Aaron’s injuries, or even whether Aaron would live or die…

“It’s merely the beginning!” is the greatest way I can describe what occurs next! As intense as it is, it gets even more intense from there, so there’s a lot to look forward to.

“This Breaking Bad-style scenario has always been a dream of mine. What situations can cause David to make decisions that bring him closer to his ancestor, Paul Robinson’s son?

“He used to look at Paul and Leo and think to himself, ‘I don’t know why you guys do this, just do the right thing!’ It’s something he’s done in a lot of different situations.

“It will undoubtedly raise the question of who David is and what lies beneath the surface of the David we’ve known all along.”

The prospect of David being separated from Aaron is terrible. Since being the first couple on Australian television to have an on-screen homosexual wedding, fans have been vocal in their support for the couple.

Takaya, who married long-term girlfriend Amy Schwab in a real-life fairytale wedding in 2020, acknowledged that he and Matt have put a lot of effort into making their love storey so lovely.

“Whether they’re bickering, arguing, or wrapped in each other’s arms, their love is so strong that it’s always a question of ‘how’ they get through problems rather than ‘whether’ they will.”

“Matt and I have worked so hard to build and nurture a relationship that is seen as a ‘genuine love,’” said the couple.
