The identity of another returnee, this time in the script department, has been revealed, which is exciting news.

The core four actors, Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Stefan Dennis, and Ryan Moloney, together with executive producer Jason Herbison, were revealed to be returning to the show’s helm when news of its revival first surfaced back in November 2022.

Fans of Neighbours have been left in the dark regarding the identity of the new script producer, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the show’s narrative department, for months.

Although his function has not been confirmed, it appears that it could be a well-known face.

Shane Isheev, a former screenplay producer, tweeted today to confirm the news of his return and to say that the mothership has summoned him home.

The final three weeks of episodes, which marked the end of the series, were created by the trio in collaboration with Jason and story consultant Sarah Mayberry. The two episodes that come right before the final two episodes were likewise written by him.

International soap opera viewers will be aware that Shane relocated to the UK after the season finale to work on Hollyoaks. On February 20, 2023, he appeared in his first episode as narrative editor, a comparable position (Episode 6051).

Shane Isheev, who is he?

Shane held a number of positions at Matchbox Pictures before joining the Australian serial, including associate post producer on The Real Housewives of Melbourne.

Shane began working as a script coordinator for Neighbours in 2015. His first episode aired on April 24 of that year (Episode 7110). He rose through the ranks over time, and after serving as a script editor for a while, he was hired as the only storyliner, working in the story room alongside the screenplay producer Paul Gartside and his assistant.

In 2018, Shane was appointed story editor and took charge of the story room with a group of storyliners following a shift in the department’s structure.

At the conclusion of 2021, Shane replaced Kate Bradley as the writing producer. He was in charge of the 17 weeks’ worth of episodes, including their plotting, writing, and editing.

Darklands, a movie Shane co-produced with Sarah Mayberry and her husband Christopher Gist, debuted on Stan later in 2022.
