Actress Ada Nicodemou of Home and Away is now recovering from a health crisis brought on by a sneeze that caused her “excruciating pain.”
After the incident, the 45-year-old told her Instagram followers that she “couldn’t walk” and had a “bulging disc” in her back.
Before she departed for work and a trip to the gym on Thursday morning, Nicodemou claimed that things took a bad turn.
The celebrity was in “excruciating pain” and unable to move after just sneezing.
She claimed that she was unable to move and was forced to lie flat on her back.
I believe I have a bulging disc and am unsure of when it will heal due to what I did.
According to Mayo Clinic, a bulging disc can happen when the spongy centre of a disc in the spine pushes out through a tear in the outer layer of the disc.
Pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots can cause problems with walking and mobility.
The actress claimed that in order to heal from her accident, she was reading a book and unwinding in bed.
Then, Nicodemou asked her 365,000 Instagram followers for TV and book recommendations after writing in an Instagram post that she was “going mad” from just lying in bed.
I had no idea a sneeze could harm so much. I’ve now been advised to take it easy and relax until I recover,” she wrote.
“Can anyone recommend any good novels or television programmes to me? I want advice so I don’t lose my mind.
The character of Leah Patterson, which Nicodemou began performing in 2000, is the one for which she is best known.
Although production for the upcoming season of Home and Away is already under progress, it is unknown how Nicodemou’s injury would affect her schedule.
