After she posted a disturbing video detailing why she didn’t want to get the Covid-19 vaccination, the actors of Home and Away are reported to be concerned for Sam Frost’s well-being.
The 32-year-old actress has canceled her primary Instagram account and banned all comments on the account for her mental health organization Believe By Sam Frost after receiving considerable criticism for her video.
During his interview on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show on Monday, entertainment reporter Peter Ford gave an update on Sam’s condition.
‘There were some individuals who came out to [Sam] privately, including members of the Home and Away cast, worried for her welfare and simply to make sure she’s alright and talk her through this,’ Ford, who works for the same network as Sam, added.
‘Maybe not persuade her to get the vaccination,’ he continued, ‘but she was foolish to put this out there because the backlash was really mean-spirited and vicious.’
Ford’s statement comes after Channel Seven explained its position on Covid-19 vaccinations and said that Sam was still employed by the network.
‘Seven actively supports vaccination for all of our employees, and all Seven productions completely comply to the public health Covid-19 safe guidelines,’ a spokeswoman said.
In addition to other precautionary precautions, the cast and crew of Home and Away undergo Covid-19 testing three times a week.
‘Sam Frost continues to work on Home and Away while adhering to the established safety measures.’
Sam’s Instagram account was removed on Saturday afternoon, only hours after she revealed in an emotional video that she was unvaccinated and that her mental health had suffered as a result.
The actress advocated for a more accepting attitude toward unvaccinated Australians.
‘I was extremely worried about filming a video or even speaking up about this, but I feel like the world is coming to a place where there’s a lot of division,’ she explained.
‘There’s a lot of harsh judgment and views being tossed about a lot, and it’s definitely affecting my mental health, and I know people around me are hurting, especially if they don’t want to be vaccinated for whatever reason.’
‘There are many various reasons why individuals do not get vaccinated, and it may be because of their medical history, their fears, their family history, or religious beliefs.’
Sam then claimed she hadn’t been vaccinated, but that she had discussed her option with both her medical doctor and a psychotherapist.
She does not, however, appear to have a legitimate medical exemption.
‘It’s a really terrible moment to be in society right now, and you feel like you’re less of a human, and you feel like others criticize you,’ she continued bitterly.
‘And you’re too afraid to express your thoughts or sentiments, and a part of you wants to go,’ “It’s none of your business why I’m not here! And there are valid reasons for this, and I don’t want you to pass judgment on me.”
She stated that it was critical for the unvaccinated to take care of their mental health, especially when fully vaccinated Australians regain their freedoms.
‘I’m having a lot of trouble with my mental health, but I like to think I’m on top of it.’ I go to a psychologist on a regular basis. So I can’t fathom what it’s like for those who don’t have a support system in place,’ she explained.
She also warned that coming out publicly as unvaccinated may bring her in jeopardy, before encouraging people to treat one another with greater love and compassion.
Her video sparked a firestorm of criticism, largely due to her use of the word “segregation” to describe how society “judges” unvaccinated individuals.
The term “segregation” is commonly used to characterize communities that are separated along racial, religious, or sexual lines.
‘Sam Frost, if you want fewer people to judge you and more people to empathize with you, don’t say the word segregation 30 seconds into your video. This isn’t Alabama in the 1950s. Antoinette Lattouf, a journalist, tweeted, “You ain’t Rosa Parks.”
‘Watching Sam Frost cry about segregation because she refuses to be vaccinated and being dubbed ‘brave’ by her supporters is bringing me to a level of ‘what the f**k’ I didn’t know was possible,’ said comic Em Rusciano.
‘It’s not segregation,’ commented another Twitter user,’ therefore I would advise you alter your language since it is very demeaning to those who have been segregated due of their race, religion, or sexual orientation.’
