The love triangle between Mackenzie and the brothers Ari and Tane continues to create trouble this week, with the trio struggling to live under one roof. And it’s about to end up in tears.
In-Home And Away, Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) can sense the friction between his girlfriend Mac (Emily Weir) and Tane (Ethan Browne), but he doesn’t know it’s because they have feelings for each other.
“Mackenzie knows that she’s drawn to Tane and that she’s puzzled,” says Emily to TV WEEK. “But she’s sleeping with her boyfriend, it’s complicated.”

Tane chooses to talk to Mac, revealing that he’s struggling to be around her – living in close proximity is too hard. Mac fights back, trying to confess his feelings, but Tane insists they’re never going to be friends: either she’s leaving or he’s going to.
“It’s interesting to act out love-triangle novels because they’re so dynamic and complex,” says Emily.
“As human beings, we can change our minds very easily on what we want. Discovering all the complexities and reasoning behind Mac’s decisions is great. Attraction and love are hard in life, but it’s still so fun to play as an actor!”
The next day, when Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) announced that she and Dean (Patrick O’Connor) had broken up, Mac realized that she had a way out to simplify the situation. The mates have agreed to move in together.
Returning home, she’s hoping to declare that she’s going to live with Ziggy – but Ari’s going to get in first, telling her to move in forever!
Mac asks for time to think, but in the next few days, Ari’s patience is thin. He’s completely committed to this relationship, is she?” Ari has always appealed to Mac because he seems drama-free,” says Emily. “She wants simplicity and tried to stop complicated problems!” [Laughs].
Ari wakes up the next morning to see Mac packing his bags. With no reason as to why she’s leaving, Ari turns his frustration on Tane – but he’s left with no answers.
His fears have warned, Ari’s mind races with possibilities. He finally finds Mac at the farmhouse and delivers the final ultimatum: in or out?
