Zeedan Nazir of CORRIE is in for an unpleasant awakening when his estranged wife Marrium shows up to settle some unfinished business.
In the cobbles, the chef, who was played by Qasim Akhtar in the ITV soap, tried to flee his past and Marrium’s intimidating family.
Zeedan was hiding things from his family when he returned to Weatherfield earlier in 2021 after three years away, especially from his sister Alya (Sair Khan) and grandma Yasmeen (Shelley King).
When Zeedan was battered and abandoned in the streets, it was evident that someone was after him.
While Zeedan initially named Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) as his assailant before pretending he didn’t know who it was, he eventually came clean in September 2021 to prevent his family from seeking police assistance.
Zeedan confessed the truth by revealing that he had divorced his wife Marrium just months after marrying her.
He had returned to Weatherfield in search of a fresh start, but his mobster father-in-law Hashim was not pleased.
Marrium’s father threatened Zeedan for breaking up his daughter’s marriage.
This wasn’t the only source of his rage; Zeedan also admitted to cheating on Marrium when he thought their marriage was finished.
With the support of Marrium’s brothers, who were behind his assault, Marrium’s father promised to have Zeedan executed for treason.
For Zeedan, the past few weeks have been extremely uncomfortable, as he has lived in fear throughout Hashim’s attacks.
When Zeedan began to launder money for him from the restaurant Speed Daal, the dispute took a turn, and the threats only grew.
Hashim even convinced Zeedan to set fire to Speed Daal in order to collect the insurance money.
Marrium now appears to be ready to settle some unfinished business, adding gasoline to the fire (pun intended).
When Marrium unexpectedly arrives in Weatherfield, Zeedan sets out to remodel the family restaurant in a brand new episode scheduled to show this week on Coronation Street.
This is Zeedan’s first meeting with his estranged wife since their divorce.
Zeedan is taken aback by Marrium’s presence, which comes after his former father-in-threats law’s and extortion.
