Steven Arnold and Julia Haworth, who met on Coronation Street, had an 11-year reunion on Loose Women this week.

Former Ashley and Claire Peacock actors zoomed-in from their homes to wax poetic about their final moments together following the 2010 tram disaster.

Ashley was crushed to death in the crash, while Claire and their two kids were smuggled out of Weatherfield a year later, according to soap fans.

“Our final scene together… clearly the audience had no idea what was going to happen, but we did,” Julia explained. “But, Stevie, wasn’t that moment so difficult to film?”

He said, ” “That was the case. As we were doing it, we were essentially saying our goodbyes to one another. That was my impression. Julia is the best person I could have chosen to work with.”

Julia interrupted, “Aww Stevie, I feel the same.” “You’re aware of that.”

You guyyyyyssss!

Following their appearance on the ITV panel programme, Steve said that after learning that Ashley was being killed off, he pleaded with Corrie executives to kill off his character.

“When I told Phil Collinson [former Corrie producer] about it, he told me, ‘We’re closing down the character.’ ‘Fair enough, but please, please, tell me you’re going to murder me?’ I begged.

“Because I wanted to turn the page and start a new chapter, so there’s never that thought in my head of ‘Am I going to go back, or am I not?’”
