Emer Kenny, an actress on EastEnders, announced the birth of her first child with husband Rick Edwards. This morning, the Zsa Zsa Carter actress posted about the change in her life on social media.

Emer announced the news by posting a brief note on Twitter and Instagram. “Bit of news…@rickedwards1 & I have given birth to a beautiful baby boy,” she posted. He truly is magical.

Emer posted two images with the update: one of her kissing her newborn son and the other of Rick smiling while holding their child. The names that the couple have given their son are still a mystery.

Rick responded, “No, I’m not just work shy, I haven’t just been gone filming an exciting television show, actually better than that. I’m not just taking a “cheeky” extended holiday break.

“Emer and I just welcomed our first child. is a lovely baby boy. It’s amazing, and I know I’m biased, but he’s fantastic, amazing, hungry, and fantastic. Three of us are all that is present as we hang out and get to know one another.

Emer and Rick first connected at the comedian friend of the actress (Jessie Cave of Harry Potter famecomedy )’s show, when Emer was there to pair Jessie up with a date. She revealed to Bustle last year: “I was actually setting Jessie up on a date while she was performing a stand-up gig. This occurred a very long time ago. I thus took a friend with me to visit Jessie. Rick then entered the room.

“Even though I had never met Rick before, for some reason I chose to give him the peace sign. a peace sign a la the Spice Girls

After that, Rick made his introduction, and the rest is history. After only seven weeks, the couple were engaged. They later wed at Kew Gardens in 2016.
