Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is going to be driven to the brink and there is no knowing what he is capable of after Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) who bullied Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) online at EastEnders as his anger exploded. Bobby had been tormented for weeks until they were strangled when he could not get any explanation from Ian. Ian is determined to make up with his family, but tragedy emerges when he is confronted by a vicious group that knows Bobby from online hate and starts to spread Islamophobic violence.
Bobby manages to stand up for himself but he ends up being so badly beaten that to save his life, he needs emergency surgery, leaving Ian distraught. An angry Bex has heard the assault and confides in Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) who reveals she understands who the perpetrator is. Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Ian's rage know no bounds, a shocked Bex tweets.
He leaves the bedside of Bobby and starts for the party boat where he hopes to find the culprit. Never having been angrier, Ian is determined to have his day with the bully to avenge his son. But what would Ian do when they come face to face?
Could his acts lead to death by mistake as the party boat enters a disaster?
As the boat gets into trouble and people end up in the Thames, at least one person isn't going to make it–so did Ian go too far with his search for revenge?
Down at the house, Kathy asks Peter (now played by Dayle Hudson) to come back and be with Bobby – the couple needs all the support they can get right now.
But has Ian really broken the clan?
