After a brief absence, Amy Walsh returned to Emmerdale earlier this year to play Tracy Metcalfe in the ITV soap opera.

Amy Walsh, a star of Emmerdale, paid tribute to her former co-star Michael Praed while discussing their bizarre reunion.

The two actors will compete on Tuesday night’s episode of Celebrity MasterChef alongside rapper Apl.de.Ap, Strictly’s Dianne Buswell, and Love Island star Luca Bish.

It didn’t go well the last time viewers of the ITV soap opera saw the couple on screen together because Michael’s character made a fatal exit.

The actor who played Frank Clayton died in 2019 after giving his life to save his daughter Tracy.

The on-screen father and daughter pair will, however, reunite when they switch from the Dales to the kitchen.

Amy described what it was like to be back with Michael Praed and referred to her MasterChef experience as a dream.

We were close friends, so it was lovely to see him, she remarked.

“However, it is a bizarre experience. It feels very organic and natural, not like you’re watching a TV show.

Although they appeared to be close while working together on Emmerdale, Michael admitted he was unaware that Amy was a co-star.

“I didn’t know Amy was going on the show until I walked into the TV studios ready for filming,” he claimed.

“It was the best surprise ever. Amy truly gave me a sense of family. We’re glad to be back together thanks to MasterChef.

After an 18-month hiatus for her maternity leave, Amy’s return to the village as Tracy earlier this year thrilled fans.

She returned to the Yorkshire Dales and married her ex-boyfriend Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

Although Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) thought Nate was up to no good and kidnapped him, their wedding almost didn’t go as planned.

Amy said of the relationship between the couple: “You just keep seeing the strength they’ve got as a couple – they get each other through, which is really nice.”
