After Dean (Patrick O’Connor) and Mia (Anna Samson) picked him up from his night outdoors following a massive dispute with Ari, Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) was in a catastrophic vehicle accident with them (Rob Kipa-Williams).
He was flung from the automobile, which was teetering on the verge of a precipice, while Dean and Mia stayed inside.
Mia instructs Nikau to get assistance, and he fights to reach the top of the hill before collapsing and passing out.
However, he awakens and draws power from the talisman his father gave him, which he wears around his neck, to go on down the path.
His persistence pays off, as he is able to flag down a motorist, which then calls for help.
Dr. Logan Bennett (Harley Bonner), a newcomer, comes by helicopter and dispatches Nikau to an ambulance as he works on removing Dean from the car.
Christian (Ditch Davey) and Tori (Penny McNamee) discover he has a collapsed lung in the hospital and attempt to mend his abdomen.
They find he has brain edoema and rush him back to the operating room for more emergency surgery.
Christian finishes the surgery, but the next day he is summoned because Nikau has an unexpected medical emergency.
Christian is facing one of his most difficult tasks as he tries to save Nikau’s life while suffering from another bleed on the brain — will he succeed?
