Lucy Durack, who plays Rose Walker on Neighbours, has spoken out about her character’s recent departure from Erinsborough.

Following the airing of her final scenes in the UK, in which Toadie Rebecchi chose Melanie Pearson over Rose in the midst of a love triangle storyline, the actress expressed her gratitude to the serial, admitting she was #TeamMelanie.

“My eps have finished airing at home and in the UK so I am no longer spoiler alerting anything when I say farewell (again) Erinsborough and thank you for another fun visit!” she shared on Instagram, alongside three pictures including co-stars.

“Sorry to anyone who found Rose’s ways a bit too sneaky at times,” she added of her character. “I did too tbh so am totally #TeamMelanie all the way.”

Following her visit to Erinsborough last year, Lucy’s second guest stint sees Melanie play a surprise video expressing her love for Toadie at a film festival, with Rose discovering that Toadie still likes her opponent.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, the actress confessed that she enjoys the variety of coming in and out of Neighbours.

“I do like the variety of getting to do a bit of Neighbours and other things,” she said. “I’m about to do a film and then a play. If I can have a year where I get to do a bit of TV, a bit of film, and a bit of theatre, that’s a good year for me.

“At the same time, of course, everybody is so nice on Neighbours. So either would be good!”

In other Neighbours news, music artist Sophie Ellis-Bextor will make a surprise cameo in the upcoming London episodes, according to the drama.
