Tiffany Butcher, a long-running character on EASTENDERS, will be departing the show in a devastating goodbye, according to actor Maisie Smith. Tiffany appears to be leaving the Square alone in this year’s Christmas narrative, overcome by remorse over Keegan Baker.

Maisie Smith, 20, was rumored earlier this year to be leaving Walford behind as her character makes an EastEnders exit after on-again, off-again spells on the programme since 2008. Tiffany’s husband Keegan (Zack Morris) was seriously assaulted in a racist attack thanks to Tiffany’s new boyfriend Aaron Monroe (Charlie Wernham) in recent heartbreaking scenes on the BBC serial. It appears Tiffany will not be departing in a fairytale ending. Is her remorse going to push her out of Walford on her own?

Maisie talked about her character’s departure on Good Morning Britain.

Susanna Reid teased, “Now you’re leaving EastEnders – spoiler alert.”

“You’ve taped your final parts presumably because they’ll appear next week, is that right?” she continued.

The actress said, “Yeah.” “I feel like I shot them a long time ago, but they should be out in a few weeks, and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I expect it to be quite a shock; I haven’t even told my family how it will play out.

“As a result, it should be a fun watch.”

“Does it mean that because you filmed them a few months ago, that’s it for you and EastEnders, and you haven’t returned?” Susanna enquired further.

“Will you be returning in any way?”

“Nice question Susanna, I see where you’re going with that,” co-host Martin Lewis said.

“Listen, you never truly leave EastEnders,” the actress joked as she responded.

“They always find a way to return, even if it means bringing you back from the dead!”

Martin, a financial journalist, chimed in, “She’s not dying everyone.” “She’s not going to die!” We’ve got it, and she’s not going to die.”

“Well, as you say, even if you did-” Susanna added.

“Even if I did, they’d find a way to bring me back – you never know!” Maisie was the one who responded.
