Daniel Osbourne of Coronation Street was devastated to learn that Daisy Midgeley had cheated on him with Ryan Connor. Since then, Daniel has become distant from Daisy and won’t give her a pass.
Rob Mallard portraying Daniel Osbourne on Coronation Street has become antagonistic towards Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) following the revelation of her extramarital affair with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott). When the teacher’s former flame, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), returns to Weatherfield, he plans to exact his own revenge on his former fiancée.
When Bethany accepted a journalism position in London in March 2020, she abruptly ended her relationship with Daniel on the ITV soap opera, fearing that their long-distance romance would not work out. But now that she’s back, she’s determined to win her former love back, and she plans to bed him soon to exact revenge on Daisy.
In later scenes, Daisy confides in Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) about how embarrassed she is to discover that Daniel appears to be focusing on his former flame, Bethany.
Jenny breaks the good news to Daisy, telling her that Waterford’s has allowed them to return to the pub full-time while the sale is being finalized, so Daisy can relax.
In another scene, Bethany paid a visit to Sarah Barlow’s (Tina O’Brien) apartment and expressed her happiness at having her daughter back in time for the holidays.
The return of her granddaughter makes Gail Platt (Helen Worth) very happy, and she suggests celebrating with a family lunch at Speed Daal.
Daisy spots Bethany and signals her to Jenny as the Platt family heads out for lunch.
Jenny then tells Gail, David Platt (Jack P Shephard), and Sarah that Daniel had slept with Bethany the previous night, leaving them all in disbelief.
Has Bethany returned to Daniel’s life already? Is Daniel fabricating a story to spite Daisy?
Does he regret forcing Daisy away and destroying their chance at a future together? Or, after just three years apart, will he return to Bethany?
Actress Lucy Fallon spoke candidly with Digital Spy about her decision to return to the cobbles, saying, “It goes without saying that I want her to be involved in some drama and that I would like her to get the person that she wants.”I hope she does.
I’m not sure if she will, for sure. “I hope everything works out and she pursues her journalism career,” she continued.
“Nevertheless, I do hope there will be some drama. I’m not sure what kind of drama I want that to have. However, I hope that there is, and I have no doubt that there will be.”
