Exclusive: Belle Dingle and Tom King, a couple from Emmerdale, are set to advance their romance on the ITV soap opera, but will it all end in tears?
Actress Eden Taylor Draper, who plays Belle Dingle in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, has alluded to the possibility that her engagement to James Chase’s Tom King is “cursed”.
In later scenes, Belle chooses to pop the question to Tom in a unique way by bringing him to a hidden location, where Olympians Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill greet them.
He doesn’t realize he is being taken out of the village because she has blindfolded him, and they wind up in an ice rink.
Being a major fan of Torvill and Dean, Tom is understandably ecstatic to see them in person and watch them skate the iconic Bolero.
Soon after, Belle proposes to Tom by getting down on one knee. Tom accepts after initially being shocked, and they kiss passionately on the ice.
Before Eden and James revealed the details of the Christmas proposal, Express.co.uk was invited to visit the set.
Eden said that because they had to take the engagement ring out of a Christmas cracker, it required “multiple” takes.
Having been a part of the soap opera since she was a young child, the actress revealed, “We are cursed, the ring is cursed.”
Even though she might have been kidding, is it possible that the ring is truly “cursed”?
Fans of Emmerdale will remember that earlier this year, Tom proposed to Belle; however, after she rejected him, everything went terribly wrong.
He shoved Belle, sending her to the ground in a fit of wrath. After the shove, she was left bleeding and shocked, having cut her head on a coffee table.
Tom expressed his sincere regret and vowed to never hurt her again, but was he telling the truth?
“I do believe Belle believes he is the love of her life,” Eden revealed. It was undoubtedly a significant event, but everything that followed was really good.
Thus, I believe it was just one of those things she forgot about very fast. She is thinking that in the back of her mind, “Wow, I am so in love with you.”
On Valentine’s Day, the couple is scheduled to get married, but will everything go according to plan? Tom used to be Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) stalker and has a troubled past.
