On Friday night, as the villagers started their New Year’s Eve celebrations, Emmerdale was rife with drama.

Fans of Emmerdale believe that history is about to repeat itself and that multiple villager deaths could result from a car crash. Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) and his twin sister Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) drove off to a party without their father Bob (Tony Audenshaw) knowing at the end of Friday night’s installment.

In order to get to the New Year’s Party, unruly teenager Cathy chose to steal the car keys belonging to Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson). April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), on the other hand, made the decision not to go, staying in the village and telling her friends to “get lost”. Heath, Cathy, and Angelica, the daughter of Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), got into the car together as well. But will the three of them die in the car crash?

“Where have you been?” April quizzed as Cathy waved a set of car keys at her pals. Heath went on to ask: “Whose are those?”

As Cathy confirmed they were Wendy’s, April fumed: “Why have you stolen her car keys again?”

“How else are we going to get to the party?” April brought up Cathy’s response, saying, “But you can’t drive.

“Are you out of your mind, do you know how dangerous that is?”

April resisted Heath and Angelica’s attempts to persuade her to get in the car.

April begged, “Don’t be so stupid,” as Cathy continued, “Come on, they are not going to know.”

April told her friends to “get lost,” and Cathy responded, “Okay, at least we’ll have a good night.” Cheers to the New Year.”

Fans speculated on what would happen after the episode concluded on social media, with many speculating that the teenagers would crash.

@blue_laur11 made the following suggestion on X, formerly known as Twitter: “I’m guessing the teens will have a crash #Emmerdale.”

“Ohh do we have a death coming up #emmerdale,” tweeted @FreakyLilReader.

As @JDavvyy chimed in, “Not another Car Crash #Emmerdale,” @kelly_xm_ begged, “Hopefully the inevitable car crash does its job #emmerdale.”

@penniless_poet continued: “Happy New Year Well it will be if that stolen car goes off a cliff with no survivors #Emmerdale.”

With a reply from @itzzzo_, “Hopefully we start 2024 with Cathy dead #Emmerdale.”

“April, well said! She made the correct decision by staying out of the car. Cathy is so silly! Disaster #emmerdale, I say,” speculated @SARamsay1.

In another scene, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) informed Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) that he was spending the New Year’s Eve alone and that he would be spending the day with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Since Charity shot Chloe Harris’s (Jessie Elland) father after he abducted Mack in a dramatic showdown, the farmer has been acting suspiciously.

After Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) vanished from the village, leaving the chef and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) to take care of his infant daughter, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) was also left in shock.
