EXCLUSIVE: Chas Dingle of Emmerdale has had a difficult year on the ITV soap opera, but will things start to turn around for her in 2024?
Despite being partially to blame for some of the problems, Lucy Pargeter’s character Chas Dingle has not had an easy time on Emmerdale over the past year.
Before he was shot dead, her marriage to Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) ended when he found out she was having an affair with businessman Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
Additionally, she was abducted by the mobster father of Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), who was seeking retribution against her brothers, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).
After her son Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) found out about her infidelity, their relationship deteriorated.
In addition, Chas recently confided in Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), the vicar of Emmerdale, about how lonely she is, and it appeared as though they were about to have a passionate moment.
Spoilers for the ITV soap opera indicate that Chas will be focusing on a different character in upcoming scenes.
Before long, Chas and the local physician Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) become close and realize they have similar romantic desires.
The unlikely couple eventually shares a kiss. Is this the beginning of a serious relationship for the two?
Fans of Emmerdale will remember that Liam has struggled romantically ever since splitting from Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and having an affair with Wendy Taylor (Susan Cookson).
Producer Laura Shaw of Emmerdale has hinted at a “huge” storyline for Chas that might mend her relationship with Aaron in recent months.
“There’s a huge story coming up for Chas in the new year that’s going to be shocking for all her family and friends and villagers around her,” Laura told Express.co.uk and other media.
“We know that [she] and Aaron have a pretty strained relationship right now, and Aaron is really pushing his mother away,” she continued.
“This could be the tale that reunites those two and forges new bonds between mother and son. We will discover all of that in the upcoming year.”
If word gets out about Liam and Aaron’s romance, will Aaron be happy with Liam? Maybe Liam has something planned to bring Chas and her son back together.
