Executives at Neighbours have officially announced that Lucy Robinson will return later this month.
Melissa Bell is reprising her role as Lucy during the mid-February David Tanaka funeral.
Fresh spoilers see Lucy returning to Erinsborough to witness her nephew’s tearful farewell.
Lucy can be seen consoling her brother Paul, who is still in disbelief and grieving for his lost baby.
Over the past few years, viewers have seen Lucy return for various cameo appearances.
She was last featured in a few episodes of Neighbours when the show returned for a new season on Amazon Freevee in September 2023.
Neighbours fans have been praising the show for a poignant episode that aired on Thursday and included David losing his life in a valiant gesture.
When villainous Eden Shaw attacked his twin brother Leo while they were on vacation in an isolated bush area, David sprang into action to save him.
During the scuffle, Eden and David fell down a cliff and suffered critical injuries. David downplayed his own alarming state and maintained that Eden had to be saved first.
Leo and Aaron Brennan were shocked to learn that David had died when they went back to assist him later.
David’s actor, Takaya Honda, recently stated to Digital Spy: “David passes away a hero. He actively participates in his own demise, and he makes a decision to save his brother because he values it more than his own life. Being a part of it was amazing, and I’m happy that I was able to bring the character to a satisfying conclusion in that way.”
“I think it’s probably good for my mental health that David is killed off, just because it puts a line in the sand,” he continued. There were, in my opinion, only two possible outcomes for David leaving Aaron, Isla, and Nicolette: either he would have passed away or ended up in jail.
“I believe that returning to prison would have been a pointless outcome, so death was the best option. The show’s masterful construction of this plot and its flawless execution mean that, ideally, this will be remembered as one of the most significant deaths in Neighbours history—but for the right reasons, not the wrong ones.”
David’s funeral is televised on Neighbours on Tuesday, February 13.
