Home and Away Spoilers – Mia goes to extreme measures to buy the gym

On next week’s Home and Away in the UK, Mia shocks Ari to his core when she reveals how she paid the deposit to buy the gym.

Last week, Jasmine (Sam Frost) made a wonderfully timed suggestion to Mia (Anna Samson) and Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams). Jasmine has decided to simplify her life now that she has a new guy in her life — juggling her work as a nurse and owning a gym was becoming too much for her, so she proposed to the happy pair that they buy the gym from her.

It will not only provide them with a solid financial foundation and allow them to establish roots in Summer Bay, but it will also greatly improve their prospects of adoption.

Because of Ari’s criminal history – he spent a decade in prison after an armed robbery gone bad – their chances of adopting are minimal unless they can show the adoption agency that they have a stable household and financial resources. Having their own company will be a huge step in the right path for them.

When Mia starts to look into it, she realises that getting a business loan could be easier said than done, especially as Ari’s work on the construction site is so sporadic.

Of course, Jasmine doesn’t even think to ask them whether they can afford to buy the business.

Thankfully, next week it seems like she has the answer – but it’s one that Ari won’t be happy about.

When she has some alone time, she reveals a key that she has plainly kept hidden since arriving in Summer Bay last year. Knowing Ari will be occupied working for the majority of the day, she heads to a strange storage unit with the answers to her and Ari’s issues.

She kneels down and takes a satchel from one of the lower shelves. She opens it up as she raises it to a higher position, showing thousands of dollars in bank notes piled within!

Susie’s stolen cash! Mia was Susie McAllister all along!

No, wait, different storyline, a different dodgy bag of cash hidden away.

We bet the art department used the same bills though.

When Ari calls, she had to think quickly and tells him she’s picking up supplements near Yabbie Creek. In actuality, she’s stuffed tens of thousands of dollars inside her sports bag, and it’s very clear that it’s not real.

Mia, what are you hiding?

When she returns home and meets Ari later that evening, he informs her that he has sold his motorcycle to a worker on his building site! “We’re now $2k closer to owning the gym,” he exclaimed.

But it’s a drop in the bucket compared to Mia’s remarks. “There was no need for you to sell your bike.” I’ve just made Jasmine a gym offer, which she has accepted.”

Then, she hits him with the bombshell. “I used the money from the armed robbery!”

At Salt, Jasmine and Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) celebrate Jasmine’s win, and all the extra time they’re about to have to spend with each other.

Yet Ari is about to bring all of that crashing down.

“I spent the last decade trying to forget about that money,” he says, enraged that she’d use shady money to try to persuade the adoption agency that they’re legitimate!

But Mia convinces him that it is their only option for completing the adoption.

Ari, on the other hand, is unwilling to risk their futures by using the cash. He had anticipated it would have vanished by now, and he is surprised that she has kept it for almost a decade. Its reappearance in his life brings back all of the dreadful memories of that period.

When he bumps into Jasmine in the Surf Club, he’s forced to let her down. He tells her that the sale won’t be going ahead and that he needs the deposit back.

However, when a befuddled Jasmine runs into Mia shortly after and attempts to figure out why the couple has changed their minds, Mia has no idea what she’s talking about. Ari didn’t appear to think to inform her that he was planning to back out of the transaction.

Is it possible for the two to come to an agreement, or is their quarrel over the shady money likely to derail their adoption plans?

Tori (Penny McNamee) is adamant about not telling Justin (James Stewart) about her and Christian’s (Ditch Davey) plans to relocate to London. She’s already applied for employment in the city, but she doesn’t want to worry her brother until she’s sure it’ll happen.

It’s completely the opposite of the freak-out that she was expecting.

“So you’re okay with me going to the other side of the world?” she asks her brother. Yet he calmly explains that he’s got Leah, she’s got Christian, and that he’s totally fine with it.

“It’s called adulting. Dream big. You wanna go to London, go to London!”

Is Justin really as fine as he lets on?
