7 huge Neighbours questions for 2022 after the season finale

That’ll be the last of our regular visits to Ramsay Street in 2021, as Neighbours has now gone on hiatus for the holidays – and what a dramatic way to go away.

In classic soap fashion, there are still a number of unresolved plots to be resolved when the programme returns on January 3 – not least Terese’s destiny.

We’ve looked at some of the most pressing topics that have been left unanswered during the show’s hiatus — 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Neighbours.

1. Is Terese going to make it?

Let’s start with the most important. Terese started 2021 in a precarious position after falling from the Lassiters roof while inebriated – just hanging on as the credits rolled. Will she be able to pull herself up before she loses her footing?

Both Paul and Glen are on their way to assist, but they are a long way away, and based on the trailer, it appears that Harlow had already fled the scene before things went horribly wrong. We do know that a funeral has been planned for 2022; let’s hope Terese isn’t among the attendees…

2. Will there finally be peace in Number 32?

To say things have been tight in Number 32 would be an understatement of the year, yet everyone came together for Christmas under one roof, despite concerns.

Except for Terese’s drama, everything looked to be going well, and it’s possible that by 2022, everyone will be on the same page when it comes to rearing young Isla. But, since this is Neighbours, and Nicolette is involved, we won’t be counting our chickens just yet…

3. Will Harlow’s pals be able to communicate with her?

Viewers have known for a time that Harlow isn’t acting like herself, but it wasn’t until the last episodes of 2021 that her pals noticed.

They are concerned that she is beginning to exhibit similar tendencies to her Bishop-family-murdering father after finding that she has been spending more time with him. Will Harlow be able to get back on track in 2022, or do we have the next Killer Robinson on our hands?

4. Are Kyle and Roxy’s wedding bells going to ring?

Kyle needed some positive news after his health troubles and the adjustment that has meant for him moving ahead, and Roxy was there to propose.

In true soap tradition, we won’t have to wait long for them to go down the aisle, but will they be able to say “I do,” or will this be another tragic Neighbours wedding? A storm is rumoured to be developing for the big day…

5. Will Glen accept Paul’s offer?

A 30-year build-up of hatred and anger was never going to go away easy, and Glen has made it clear to his brother Paul that he has no intention of playing happy families with their past.

But, because Glen is staying for at least a few months, we can’t think there won’t be some softening in the relationship. The question is whether Glen will be able to let go of his rage – and whether he will be able to suppress his increasing affections for Terese.

6. What will Amy’s love life be like?

Amy, Ned, and Levi’s polyamorous relationship was a major emphasis in the last months of this year, but tensions between them all were rising as 2021 came to a close.

Will Amy be forced to choose between her two husbands once more, or will the three of them find a way to make it work this time? In any case, a flashback to Amy’s history is on the way when her daughter Zara comes next year, which might further complicate things…

7. Will Terese and Paul reunite?

Will Terese and Paul be reunited, assuming she does not meet a grisly end on the grounds of the Lassiters complex?

Their most recent counselling session was a disaster that only made matters worse, and Glen’s arrival has further muddied the waters.

Is this the end for the couple, or will they find a way to get back on track in 2022, despite the odds?
