Terese Willis, a NEIGHBOURS fan, might be left with life-altering injuries in the New Year when a Christmas cliffhanger on Channel 5’s soap shows her hanging from the roof of the Lassiters Hotel.

Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) has had a tumultuous end to the year on Neighbours, with her marriage to Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) falling apart, leading to her reverting to drinking and developing emotions for her estranged husband’s brother, Glen Donnelly (Richard Huggett). On Christmas Day, however, things will take a terrifying turn in Erinsborough, as it appears that the heartbreak of the previous several months will have disastrous effects. As history on the Channel 5 soap begins to repeat itself, the beloved character could be facing a very different future due to potentially life-altering injuries.

The drama will be revealed in this Friday’s episode, which serves as the season finale for Neighbours this year.

Terese is unable to deal with her problems without turning to alcohol, and she spends Christmas Day dangerously intoxicated and alone.

Harlow Robinson, her step-granddaughter, approaches her as she climbs to the roof of the Lassiters Hotel for some fresh air (Jemma Donovan).

The two women fight over Paul, and when they can’t come to an agreement, Harlow storms out, leaving Terese alone.

Unfortunately, she loses her balance and is forced to clutch on the hotel’s edge, hoping not to fall to the earth or worse.

This will be similar to what occurred to Glen over 30 years ago when he was struggling with his brother Paul to keep from falling off the Lassiter’s roof.

He did, unfortunately, and was diagnosed with paralysis before recovering completely and returning to Ramsay Street only a few weeks ago.

Terese, on the other hand, appears to be in danger this time because no one is present to hear her calls for aid.

For three weeks, viewers will be left wondering what happened to their favorite character, and the answers will be revealed on January 3, 2022, when the show returns from its break.

One conceivable outcome of the cliffhanger is that Terese is harmed and realizes she will never be able to walk again.

When she was diagnosed with paralysis, like Glen, the Ramsay Street favorite would have to figure out how to cope with her life-altering diagnosis.

Terese’s drinking is so out of control that she has now caused harm to herself, and this would be a tremendous wake-up call for her.

She may be able to move her upper body, but doctors may determine that she is paralyzed from the waist down.

Glen would be the first to offer assistance, having been in a similar circumstance three decades ago and wanting the best for her.

Paul would love to aid his estranged wife, but since she has made it apparent that she no longer wants him in her life, will he do so?

Rebekah, the actress who plays Terese, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about what she thinks the future holds for her character.

She wants to see her astute character “reclaim her life and not be so reliant on the Robinson family,” she said.

If she sustains life-altering injuries, she may choose to distance herself from the Robinsons and rely on others like Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson).

Terese, unlike Glen, may not be able to recover from her injuries and will be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

This could provide her with a whole new level of independence, as she will have to adjust to a new way of life.

The rooftop cliffhanger could have a different ending if Terese dies as a result of her fall.

Rebekah’s nine-year run on the show may come to an end with the death of her character in this Christmas tragedy.

“I’ve absolutely liked the on-screen dance Paul and Terese have been performing now for years with their relationship,” the soap star stated when asked about her finest moment on the show if this was the end for Terese.

“They’ve never been consistent. When it comes to a memorable occasion, Terese’s ride on the electric bull has to be at the top of the list “she asserted

Viewers have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the imminent disaster that is rapidly approaching Terese.

Carys penned: “Not because of how badly Paul and Terese’s #neighbors are destroying them. It doesn’t make sense…the plot didn’t have to be written this way. It’s extremely aggravating and heartbreaking.”

“Oh my God, I hope Teresa is going to be ok in neighbors?” Sharon wrote on social media.

“It’s fantastic,” Rhys said. “Terese will be doomed,” Simon added, referring to her brother-in-death laws 30 years before.

“Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Tilly said, “I’ll need a pleasant new year to start with Paul and Terese reconnecting, possibly after he helps save her.”

Will she emerge unhurt from her ordeal, or will her life be forever altered?

Neighbours air on weekdays at 1 pm and 6 pm on Channel 5.
